MoDSU recognizes three categories of membership, each with specific rights, obligations, and benefits within the union.
For all current tertiary-level students from Moyamba District studying at any institution in Sierra Leone.
For ordinary members who are fully engaged, up to date with dues, and actively participating in MoDSU programs and governance.
For supporters, alumni, and stakeholders who believe in MoDSU's mission and wish to contribute to the union's growth without full voting rights.
Current students enrolled in any tertiary institution, university, or college in Sierra Leone
Natives or residents of Moyamba District who are currently studying at the tertiary level
Students who genuinely commit to uphold MoDSU's constitution, values, and objectives
All genders, backgrounds, and institutions equally welcomed and represented
Pupils from Moyamba District secondary schools (as junior associate members)
Individuals who are not students in any recognized institution or not from Moyamba District
Anyone previously expelled from MoDSU without reinstatement by the General Assembly
Individuals whose conduct or values fundamentally conflict with MoDSU's constitution and principles
Members who are in arrears of dues and have not made arrangements with the Financial Secretary
All active members have the right to vote in all MoDSU democratic elections and General Assembly decisions.
Any eligible active member in good standing may contest for any executive position within the union.
Every member has the right to speak, raise issues, and contribute meaningfully at all General Assembly meetings.
Full access to all MoDSU programs, workshops, events, mentorship networks, and training opportunities.
MoDSU advocates for the welfare and rights of all members before institutions and relevant authorities.
Members are entitled to receive accurate, timely information about MoDSU's activities, finances, and decisions.
All members must pay their annual membership dues and any approved levies in a timely manner to remain in good standing.
All members must respect, uphold, and abide by the MoDSU National Constitution and all lawful decisions of the union.
Actively support and promote MoDSU's mission, vision, and programs within your institution and community.
Participate in General Assembly meetings and chapter events to ensure your voice contributes to union decisions.
Conduct yourself with integrity, respect, and responsibility as a representative of MoDSU and Moyamba District.
Be an ambassador of Moyamba District — excelling academically, serving your community, and leading with purpose.
Connect with hundreds of students from Moyamba District studying across Sierra Leone and build lifelong relationships.
Eligible active members can apply for MoDSU scholarships, awards, and academic recognition programs.
Be matched with a senior mentor who provides academic guidance, career advice, and personal support.
Access leadership workshops, stand for executive positions, and develop real governance and management skills.
Receive an official MoDSU membership card and digital certificate recognizing your membership in the union.
Have your concerns, ideas, and aspirations represented at district and national levels through MoDSU's advocacy work.
